Installation
Facilities
Raytel Equipment Ltd. operates out of a 22,000 square foot facility in Calgary, Alberta. All modification and installation of equipment happens here. As well, several secure lots serve as storage for incoming vehicles and large inventory items.
Transport Canada Compliance
All installations performed by Raytel Equipment meet or exceed regulations set forth by Transport Canada under the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Raytel Equipment is certified in vehicle completions and affixing them with the National Safety Mark. This means that the incomplete cab-and-chassis Raytel Equipment installs equipment on are fully completed, safety marked, and street legal in all provinces when delivered to the end user. Raytel Equipment supplies all relevant documentation with the vehicle upon completion.
Since Raytel Equipment is authorized to complete vehicles by Transport Canada, a high standard of safety must be followed. Raytel Equipment will not perform installations that are deemed to be unsafe or in violation of any sections of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. This includes work on used vehicles that have already been completed.
Warranties and Maintenance
Raytel Equipment provides warranties on all product lines and work performed. The terms of each warranty are dependent on the installation and contract with each customer.
Since medium and heavy-duty vehicles are subject to more extreme work conditions than civilian vehicles, regular maintenance is critical. Warranties may be voided if there is evidence of neglect or misuse of equipment installed by Raytel Equipment. Regular maintenance involves the following key points:
- Keeping electrical components (motors, solenoids, connectors, etc.) free of corrosion and moisture buildup through regular cleaning and application of protective lubricants.
- Checking and replacing all retaining hardware (snap rings, cotter pins, bolts, etc.) before it fails or falls off, preventing damage to equipment.
- Checking all fluid and lubricant levels.
- Inspecting fittings and seals for leakage and wear.
- Using lubricant on all greasing points.
- Keeping equipment reasonably clean to reduce wear and corrosion.
- Inspecting structural components for stress cracks, warping, or severe corrosion.
